Thought of the day

Even scientists at NASA are learning from India's very own holy scripture Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. See news clipping below. So, why shouldn't we learn from it.

Naam Japo, Kirt Karo, Vand Chhako is a very basic learning from Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. It means contemplate God's name, earn an honest living and share & eat together respectively.

Naam Japna, or Naam Simran refers to the meditation, vocal singing of hymns from the Sri Guru Granth Sahib or contemplating the various Names of God (or qualities of God), especially the chanting of the word Waheguru, which means 'Wonderful Lord' representing the formless being the creator of all the forms and being omnipresent in all forms.

Kirt Karna term means to earn an honest, pure and dedicated living by exercising one's God-given skills, abilities, talents and hard labour for the benefit and improvement of the individual, their family and society at large.

Vand Chhakna is one of the three main pillars of the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev, the founder of the Sikh dharm. It means share what you have and to consume it together as a community.
