If you played Pitthu Garam, you had an awesome childhood. Pitthu Garam is one of the most popular games of Panjab, but with time, this wonderful game is losing ground.
Pitthu Garam (or Seven Stones) is a traditional game played between two teams. The game requires a tennis ball and set of seven stones which can be stacked up to form a small tower. The aim of the game is to be able to break the tower and then rebuild it before getting hit by one of the opponent.
Whenever one of the players finally managed to hit the tower, madness broke. There was loud cheering and shrieking in the streets and people sitting in their homes knew what exactly had happened.
Although the game is normally played with a plastic or a Cosco cricket ball, there have been instances when people were seen playing it with a leather ball. All we have to say to them is: Bravo! But play safe and stay safe! Long lives the lovely games of Panjab!
we still play it @ home, sometimes.
